The hospitality, recreation and other services industry action plan was released on 5 March 2008 to support the second stage of the Queensland Workplace Health and Safety Strategy 2004-12, which aims to reduce the incidence of work-related injuries by 40 per cent and fatalities by 20 per cent.
Industry specific initiatives in this action plan include:

- investigating the feasibility of developing a health and safety induction program for all people who work in these industries.
